Insurance and Out-of-Network Reimbursement:

Superbills:
Upon request, we can provide a detailed receipt (superbill) containing necessary information such as session dates, fees, provider details, and relevant codes. You can submit this to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.Reimbursement Process: We recommend contacting your insurance provider to verify out-of-network mental health benefits, deductible amounts, reimbursement rates, and the claims submission process.
Step-by-Step Guide to Submitting for Out-of-Network Benefits

-
Verify Your Out-of-Network Benefits: Contact your insurance provider using the member services number on your insurance card. Inquire about your out-of-network mental health coverage, including deductibles, reimbursement rates, session limits, and any pre-authorization requirements.
-
Understand Your Financial Responsibility: Be aware that you may need to pay the full session fee until your out-of-network deductible is met. After meeting the deductible, your insurance may cover a percentage of the fee, leaving you responsible for the remaining amount
-
Obtain a Superbill: After each session, request a superbill from us. This document includes all necessary details for filing a claim with your insurance company.
-
Submit the Claim: Submit the superbill to your insurance company through their online portal or by mail, following their specific submission guidelines. Ensure all required information is included to prevent delays.
-
Follow Up/Monitor the status of your claim and promptly address any requests for additional information from your insurer.
Pros and Cons of Using Out-of-Network Benefits
-
Pros:
-
Access to Preferred Therapists: Flexibility to choose a therapist who best fits your needs, even if they are not in-network.
-
Potential for Reimbursement: Depending on your plan, you may receive partial reimbursement for therapy sessions, reducing overall costs.
-
-
Cons:
-
Higher Out-of-Pocket Costs: Out-of-network services often involve higher deductibles and coinsurance, leading to increased expenses. At the same time, the cost is usually not substantially higher than the costs of in network therapy if one has OON benefits.
-
For example: The practice's rates are $125 for the usual session. A client would pay $125 at a session and receive a Superbill. The client would submit the bill to her/his insurance company. The insurance company has a policy which states that they believe that a standard session costs $100 after the deductible is met. They would reimburse the client for 70% of their estimation, which would be $70, so the actual cost for the client for using out of network services is $55. Meanwhile, their copay is $45/session, which would mean that it is an increase or $10 to have the advantage of therapy provided without the regular intrusive oversight and limitations of insurance auditors.
-
-
Upfront Payments: You are typically required to pay the full session fee at the time of service and await reimbursement from your insurer.
-
Cancellation and No-Show Policy/Advance Notice:
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations to avoid fees.Late Cancellation/No-Show Fees: Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice or missed appointments may incur the fee mentioned above.
